At DG Dental Mexicali we follow the protocols established by the WHO, (World Health Organization) counting on the latest generation autoclaves to obtain a rigorous dental sterilization. The use of instruments in any medical specialty carries risks of infection that specialists take care to avoid so as not to transmit pathogenic microorganisms from one patient to another.

For this reason, there are protocols ruled by the International Dental Federation (FDI), the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the American Dental Association (ADA) that in Clinicas Propdental we strictly follow to avoid any type of risk related to the use of the necessary instruments for our treatments.

We also implement other preventive measures that further increase safety in this regard. We refer to the following: - Use of disposable material whenever possible: we use single-use instruments when this does not mean a decrease in quality with the aim of reusing as little material as possible. These wastes will be duly treated in containers enabled for their storage and destruction. - Disinfection of equipment, furniture and surfaces: We will use disinfecting solutions to clean all possible areas that are in contact with the patient or the instruments to avoid any contamination.

Barrier techniques: The clinic staff will be duly protected with a uniform, gloves, masks and, if necessary, protective glasses. In this way we ensure that our staff does not act as a transmitter of any infection.

How is dental sterilization performed?

  1. Disinfection: the instruments are immersed in a disinfecting solution that will soften the remains of organic and inorganic matter that has adhered to them during use. In this way some pathogens are eliminated and we facilitate subsequent cleaning.

  2. Cleaning: dirt is removed from the instrument until the sterilizer contacts the entire surface. At DG Dental we have optimized this phase with the use of ultrasound baths that apply water vapor at high temperatures. In this way we reduce the risks of manual manipulation and ensure that we reach all corners.

  3. Packaging: thanks to it we keep the instruments in sterile conditions for a long time. We should always pack the surgical material while we can decide not to package the material that has other uses.

The dental office, comprising the dental chair and its various auxiliary components as well as the accessory furniture, are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected with a spray formulated with ethanol, which is a phenolic derivative or with an alcohol-aldehyde solution. This cleaning provides asepsis in the workplace.

Glasses, napkins, ejectors, gauze, etc; they should be discarded after performing dental treatment. Likewise, all disposable sharp instruments (needles, scalpel blades, etc.) will be placed in a suitable container approved by the relevant health agency.

At DG Dental Mexicali we not only ensure the oral health and aesthetics of our patients; We also guarantee the most professional treatment at a medical level because we know the risks that the practices that we carry out mean. The exhaustive monitoring of all the prevention and control phases give the necessary peace of mind to ensure that our patients have a healthier and prettier smile.

Thank you for entrusting your oral health to us!
